Bill Havens

Bill Havens has always been interested in art and after retirement he received his degree in fine art from San Jacinto Collage.  Oil painting was his first love but he than moved to less rigid forms of expression.  He found that Sumi allowed him to experiment, mess about,  and personalize  his art.

Sumi allows us to dance in the moment and follow the natural flow of life.  Bill also works in Sumi-e  with mixed media collage where the joy of the moment occurs when the peaces just fall togather.
Raku pottery is another joy where the result is always a suprise.

Bill has exhibited and won awards in Indiana, Illinois, Texas and Washington.  He has studied with many Puget sound artists and some Chinese artists on his two trips to China.
