I came to painting when I could. I spent my first 40 years busy – busy as a student, wife, mother-of children and dogs employee.  My “art” was sketching or crafts. After our youngest went to college it was my turn and I started taking classes from some wonderful local artists.

About 15 years ago I took a sumi class from Priscilla Maynard and that spoke to me on many levels. Of all the aspects of making a picture, I think that involvement with the line is the most magical for me.

Of all the opportunities that painting offers, being “with”  the wild places is the most precious.
